Welcome to Central's page

Hello everyone, and welcome to our page. There haven't been any changes here since we stopped having school in person back in 2020.
What are you reading? I am reading Nubia a graphic novel about being different and the challenges of being accepted, Can a girl with superhuman strength even be accepted? Check out the Sora app, Quincy Public Schools has an account now, you can sign in with google and access thousands of titles.
Do you want to post a review to the books you've read? That's a great way to revisit old "friends" and encourage others to try them too. Sign in to your account on the library homepage and write away. Once I have reviewed them they will go live for all to see (with or without your name, that's up to you).

Just finished Stamped by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi.
Have you heard of the term "anti-racist"? What does that even mean? An eye-opening look at the history of racism and racist thought. The guy who first came up with the idea of a racial hierarchy did so to support the making of money from that hierarchy. He was a 15th century spin-doctor. That's the timeline this book covers. Reynolds (author of the Track series and A Long Way Down among others) took Dr Kendi's more academic work and wove it into something very readable. A must read for anyone seeking to understand the history of race in America.
